Issues

We believe there are eight essential elements to make our schools work in New York.

  1. Adequate funding.
  2. Access to early childhood education so all kids enter school ready to learn.
  3. Alignment between:
    • Early education, k-12, higher education, tech schools
    • Advanced Placement classes aligned with higher education
    • Teachers trained for kids’ needs in each grade.
  4. Small cohorts/small schools with one to one relationships between parents, students, and teachers for a system built around kids.
  5. Rigorous, relevant curriculum and necessary facilities to educate creative, analytical and critical thinkers.
  6. Quality, well-trained, well-supported teachers.
  7. Access to affordable post secondary education.
  8. Rigorous national standards that are meaningful assessments for kids and adults.
