We believe there are eight essential elements to make our schools work in New York.
- Adequate funding.
- Access to early childhood education so all kids enter school ready to learn.
- Alignment between:
- Early education, k-12, higher education, tech schools
- Advanced Placement classes aligned with higher education
- Teachers trained for kids’ needs in each grade.
- Small cohorts/small schools with one to one relationships between parents, students, and teachers for a system built around kids.
- Rigorous, relevant curriculum and necessary facilities to educate creative, analytical and critical thinkers.
- Quality, well-trained, well-supported teachers.
- Access to affordable post secondary education.
- Rigorous national standards that are meaningful assessments for kids and adults.
